Ron Hodgson – St.Albert, AB

NHRA National Event Winning Funny Car Owner & Castrol Raceway Owner

About

Gordie Bonin, Ron Hodgson and Gordon Jenner are arguably one of the most successful drag racing teams in Canadian Motorsport history.

Ron Hodgson, the team member, ran Edmonton International Speedway from 1974 to 1979. In addition to this, he also modified many dragsters that won 6 NHRA Funny Car National Events, 2 AHRA Top Fuel World Championships and various other events. Today, Hodgson works with his youngest son Jeff, campaigning a sprint car as well as with top fuel drag racer Craig Smith, out of Spokane.

Gordon Jenner first joined the Bonin-Hodgson team in 1972 as the Crew Chief, when many of the team’s victories were recorded. Gordie Bonin, the driver, served as the NHRA’s director of marketing for several years in addition to winning 9 NHRA Funny Car National events and the AHRA Top Fuel World Championship in 1989.

The team were all true drag racers and always willing to help fellow competitors when needed. Over the years, they also worked with drag racer Gary Beck, Ed McCullough, among others.
