Doug Box

(Hometown: London, Ontario)

Doug Box’s lifelong love for cars began at 14 and at 18, the late Charlie Sousa piqued his interest in the Stock class and this interest only continued to grow. Ten years later, Doug was hired as the Event Director for the Dynomax Street Machine Nationals at St. Thomas and was then hired to help Grand Bend Motorplex. These experiences inspired Doug to start the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Series, which is now the premiere drag racing series in Ontario.

He has accomplished several impressive drag racing achievements, including the 2000 IHRA Summit Series Holley Sportsman Drag Racing Championship in Ohio in the D/SA class and he was the AA/SA class winner at the NHRA 2019 U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

Currently, Doug actively contributes to the Can-Am Stock/Super Stock series, implementing innovative sponsorship strategies to boost the post-pandemic momentum. Despite his passion for cars, he emphasizes the importance of the people he has encountered in the drag racing community, emphasizing the camaraderie and joy it brings.
