Ronald Brunet - Napierville, QC

The son of a farmer, Ronald Brunet was born in St. Eugène, Ontario, on November 9, 1948. He lived near the road circuit used from 1955 to 1962. In the late 1960s, he opened a High Performance store for a year in Hawkesbury, then moved the store to Gatineau. In 1975, Brunet buys his first Stock drag racer, a 1969 Camaro. In 1977, his second Super Stock drag racer is a 1965 Chevelle, followed by a 1968 Corvette in 1979, an Omni in 1984, and a Trans Am in 1986.

In 1985, he buys the Napierville Raceway, which becomes NHRA-sanctioned. He added a second acceleration track, a drift track, a road race and lapping track, and a remote control track. Brunet has been presenting the NHRA National Open since 1992. In 1987, he sold his High Performance business and took over Napierville Dragway.

Since 2013, Brunet has owned a Pro Stock 4 Cylinder that holds the world record for the fastest four-cylinder car in the World-6.29 seconds at 222 MPH over the ¼ mile. It is driven by Carl Brunet and the mechanic is Nicolas Brunet.

Ronald Brunet opens his doors for drag racing more than 100 times a year. He has lived in Napierville since 1987.
